Savvy City Girl's first issue of Real Savvy Real Women comes from Singapore and features a stunning group of ex-barista co-workers turned dear friends who once a year put aside their hectic schedules and demanding careers to meet up for laughter and fun.

These SCGs (and SCB) definitely have it all going. Each has her own undeniable personal style, and they all illustrate the importan
ce of good fit, fun accessories and knowing what looks great on you - a combination that automatically makes you feel comfortable and confident.

Looks This SCG Loves:

Animal Print Shoes
Look closely, they're there. We are going to be seeing splashes of animal prints as statement pieces for the next 2 seasons, at the least. And when dressing for the Singapore heat, what better way to bring the wild into your wardrobe and indoors than with a pair of classic pumps in an animal print. If you own a pair, whip them out now and be prepared for them to be a "go-to" accessories. The same goes for scarfs, belts, bracelets, etc. You don't need to go full on jungle to make a statement with this trend.

Yellow Belt, Pink Bra Under Black Lace
I adore this look. It is daring, simple and playful. As a fashion statement, it's about doing something unexpected, and doing it so well that you actually feel more confident. Next time you're heading out the door to meet your pals, think about changing your black bra to one a little more noticeable!

Ombre Wrap
The fashion world has always had an unconditional love affair with ombre. It is always flattering and adds a sophistication to any look. If you don't own any ombre consider it a valuable addition to your closet that is seasonless. Feeling brave, and creative? Learn how to dye your own here.

Architectural Print Sleeveless Dress
This print is illustrative of my fave F/W 10 trend - the architectural print. In this dress I see Jean Nouvel's Ateliers (pictured), where organic structural curves play against layered linear details creating movement and depth. Keep your eye out for some amazing arch prints this season, from the abstract, such as this print, to the more literal.

Fitted Scoop Neck Tank
This piece proves that simple is better. The scoop neck looks is so flattering. That is why a good fitting, well made square neck tank is a no excuses "must have" for every SCG.

If I had to choose one...?
I love to ask myself this when I look at a great style shot. It's a tool I take with me shopping or when I'm in my own closet putting together new looks. If I could have anything in this picture it would be the black silk shirt with the not-too-low plunging V neck. It is effortless and the fit is splendid on her. The delicate V chain necklace is the perfect subtle but edgy accessory.

Thanks go out to all the SCGs out there who sent pics of you and your friends living fabulous lives. It was so hard to pick just one, but I will be featuring a reader picture soon, so check back!

  1. animal print seems to always be around. and never goes out of style. I've got a ski jacket that is over 20 years old...bright leopard print. People still stop and remark about it. Brava!
